But the hour is coming, and now is,
when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit
and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in
spirit and truth. –John 4:23-24
Worship
isn’t about the songs we sing or the music we play. Worship
is an expression and overflow from our heart. Therefore,
worship isn’t limited to an event or a moment in time.
Rather, worship is a lifestyle. When the Creator of the
Universe is at the center of our entire existence, there
isn’t an area of life that is not involved. Whether it’s
going to school, working at a job, playing with our kids,
spending time with our friends, or gathering with other
believers to sing, read the Word, and express our love
toward God, it’s all worship. There isn’t an area of our
lives that is not somehow touched by the reality of worship.
God’s
original design at the time of creation was to have ongoing
fellowship with man. Adam & Eve’s entire life was an
expression of worship. Although sin entered into the picture
and created a separation between God and man, the Father
sent His Son, Jesus, to reestablish that same fellowship.
That fellowship is the heart, foundation, and soul of
worship. It’s all about living life for our Creator.
In John
4, Jesus indicated that the Father is seeking worshipers.
However, He is very specific about what kind of worshiper He
is seeking. He seeks those who worship in spirit and truth.
Our goal is to have a constant awareness of God’s presence
in our lives. With that focus in mind, worship invades all
of our lives. This is the foundation on which the worship
ministry at Providence Church of God is built... |
